But for those of you who enjoy a flutter you can always try your luck at the Casino. HOW TO REACH THE ISLAND At present, direct flights are available from the UK to the Margarita Island. These flights are from Manchester and Gatwick. The direct flight time is approximately 9 hours. From Manchester the direct flights depart every other Thursday and are operated by 'First Choice'. Direct flights from Gatwick are also available through 'First Choice' and are every other Wednesday. Alternatively, you could use any of the following main airlines Air France, Iberia, Alitalia, Air Europe, Conviasa, Lufthansa, KLM, Condor or TAP Portugal and fly via Caracas in Venezuela. From Caracas there are daily shuttle flights to the Margarita Island and they take approximately 35 minutes.
