In the Caribbean islands of the Antilles, west of Puerto Rico and east of Cuba, lies a divided tropical island with a chequered past. Named Hispaniola by Columbus when in 1492, it became the first port of call towards colonising the Americas. Today we give the two portions of the island different names, both full of mystique in their own ways: Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Blue meets green at Punto Cana. Visitors come for the shallow turquoise waters, the constant 26%C and the wide stretches of pale sands. Or for the golfing.

Sun, sea, night-life, restaurants and a number of golf-courses mean there is a bit of everything for the investor, whether in terms of beachfront flats, villas, buy-to-rent or business premises. A seriously upmarket investment location.
